In case you wondered, “Banzhaf” is the original spelling of our last name. In our Banzhaf ancestry going back

through Pennsylvania to the Schwabenland of Southern Germany, our ancestors were farmers (Landswirt) until

Grandpa Benchoff left the farm after World War I. Being the third generation away from the land, we named the

farm in honor of our ancestors. Wir waren dritte generation ,,Stadtvolk”, und dann waren wir wieder auf dem

Land. Wir fuehlten dass unser Hof muss eine Deutsche Name haben…….,,Banzhaf Garten”.
